ABSTRACT

This study is intended to provide a different perspective for solving a one-dimensional nonlinear, inverse diffusion problem. Taylor’s series expansion is employed for linearization and then the finite-difference method is used to discretize the domain. The least-squares method is adopted to estimate the unknown diffusion coefficient.
